California Food Handler Card Law

Enforcement of the new CA Food Handler Card Law will start on January 1, 2012. All dishwashers, servers, cooks, bartenders, and others that handle or prepare food or beverages must obtain a CA Food Handler Card.

Before you pay for a course or exam from another provider, make sure the program certificate issuer is ANSI Accredited. Fidelity Safety & Training only issues ANSI Accredited exams and certificates.

If you posses a Certified Food Manager Certificate, you do not need a Food Handler Card.

FOOD HANDLER CARD -

OPTION 1 - Private On-Site Class Instructor-Led

Food Handler Class and Exam at Your Location:

The class is followed by a 40 question multiple choice examination. Candidates must score a 70% or greater on the exam to receive the certificate card. The certification card is good for three (3) years. The class and exam are approximately 2.5 hours and all classes will be taught in English. The exam is available in English or Spanish.
