Food Safety Training


Since 2000 California law has required each retail food facility to have at least one owner, manager, supervisor or other person certified as a certified food safety manager also known as ServSafe® or Food Protection Manager. Our manager courses and exams are half-day programs followed by an 80 question multiple choice examination. Certification is good for five (5) years.

If you have a MANAGER’S certification you do not need a Food Handler Card.

Enforcement of the new CA Food Handler Card Law SB303 started on January 1, 2012. All dishwashers, servers, cooks, bartenders, and others that handle or prepare food or beverages must obtain a CA Food Handler Card. Click here for other states. Food handler’s must successfully pass a 40 question multiple choice examination. Certification is good for three (3) years. CA Food HANDLER Card is required for almost all food service employees.
